On this page we have set up for you an overview of all sorts of leather bags we have crafted over the years. There are many – from small tobacco pouches to large briefcases, there are fancy purses and heavy-duty special purpose bags amongst others.

Some are available for quick and easy order but we would also like to offer you a truly custom made bags too – see the gallery! Prepared forms can’t really include all the options we have to offer, so take a look at some examples of customization options you might want to make use of for your new leather bag!

Viking Style Leather Belt Bag

Hand crafted vegetable tanned leather belt bags.

These bags are nowadays often referred as Viking Style bags and this is no surprise as these sorts of fastening mechanisms and bag styles date back to iron age era. I must say this is one of my favourite fastening options. It is so simple, at the same time so reliable and this is what mesmerizes me.

By default the gusset for this bag is about 50-60mm and you may use this bag with up to 60mm wide belt.

Here’s a sortable gallery of leather bags that have been crafted here throughout many years. You must agree, that there’s quite a variety in size, shape, purpose, techniques, decorations and colours. All these bags have been made for different persons and so this is only natural that there are so many different bags. What will your next bag look like?

This belt pouch is made by customers wishes for a blind person who uses a white stick. It can be opened very easily by a magnet and the white stick can always be kept around in a certain place.

Three similar leather purses that are made by same style. The biggest difference is in the pockets. The dark brown purse on the top left side has a smaller pocket on the outer side while the other purses have smaller pockets inside.

This shoulder bag has three pockets. Biggest of them is 28cm wide, 23cm deep and 6cm on the side. The biggest pocket is obvious on this photo and also the front pocket. Third pocket is actually between those two. It is without the side gusset and is ideal for a phone or a wallet, something you would want to keep separately so you could find it quickly. Front pocket can be closed separately, topmost cover can be close with small metal buckle. Shoulder strap is adjustable by the metal buckle and attaches to the bag by the carabines.

This bag has three pockets. Biggest is about 29cm wide, 21cm deep and 9cm on the side. Front pocket is about 24cm wide, 17,5cm deep and 3cm on the side. Behind the front pocket there is additional flat pocket. Shoulder strap can be attached to the bag by small metal carabines and it can be adjusted by a small metal buckle.

Decorated by hand carved pattern. Measurements of this bag were chosen by the customer and in this case these were 26cm wide, 22cm deep and 6cm on the side. Accordingly to the customers wishes, this bag doesn't have adjustable shoulder strap, neither can it be removed but is made by agreed length.

This bag is all over covered by hand carved pattern. The person I made this bag for wished she could use it as a theatre- bag and it had to fit normal haircomb and some other things. So she didn't wish it to be very small in the first place. (I always smuggle some chocolate and limonade into the theatre so it seems all very logic to me). In the end it became a nice square and the lenght of the side is 25cm. I believe I made the sidewide width about 6cm or so. The bag has two pockets inside, shoulder strap can be adjusted by small metal buckle and it closes with a magnet lock.

Bag has been made out of vegetable tanned leather, handsewn with strong waxed thread. In addition there are some metal parts - buckles (for a lock in the front and for to adjust the straps length), rivets, carabines.

Beautiful leather shoulder bag, inspired by saddle bags. Measurements of the main pocket (taken from inside) are 28cm wide and 26cm deep and 8cm on the side (gusset). Smaller front pocket is about 25cm wide, 24cm deep and 2cm on the side (gusset).

Full grain leather briefcase, decorated with hand carved deer image. Briefcase closes with metal bag locks and shoulder strap can be adjusted for suitable length. Measurements for this briefcase are: 37cm wide, 37cm tall and 4cm on the side.

This briefcase is really large: 44 cm wide, 34 cm deep/ high and 15 cm wide on the side. Leather briefcase has a handle and shoulder strap - strap's length can be adjusted by metal buckle.

And there is another small pocket on the back side of the neck pouch. Leather strap attaches to the bag by small carabines.

All leather parts for this neck pouch are put together by lacing. Leather neck pouch is 11cm wide, 16cm deep/high and it opens up to 3cm on the side. All measurements are taken from inside the bag.

Leather tote bag inside, the sides are fully unfolded. Inside the bag there is another small pocket and straps with snaps. These will be used by the customer to attach another smaller fabric bag inside this bag.

This tote bag parts are put together by leather lacing. Handles are also riveted to give them a bit more durability. Bag can be closed on the top by a leather strap and metal knob. When there are more items in the bag, the strap can be adjusted very easily.

Two leather toiletry bags. Both bags are decorated on one side by hand carved image. Bag closes on top by zipper. In addition to the main satchel it has two additional smaller pockets inside the bag. Measurements for these bags: longest side is about 28cm, shortest side and height is about 9cm.

Belt pouch closes with a magnetic lock and it has just one maine pocket inside. In addition to the hand carved viking ship, the edges of the belt bag are laced. Lacing also holds the bag intact. This bag is 16cm wide, 13cm deep (height) and 4cm on the side. Belt pouch is handmade out of vegetable tanned leather.

This belt bag in the set has one large and two narrow pockets. Measurements for this belt bag are: 15.5cm wide, 12cm high/ deep and 6cm taken from the side of the bag.

Measurements For The Bag

What sizes are available?

There are no restrictions to sizes. You may choose whatever measurements you like.

We make all our patterns ourselves and we cut out the pieces by hand. So there is nothing to stop us to make it as large or small you need.

What shapes are available?

As we make all patterns ourselves, there are no limitations also to the shapes. We may make it round or square or even triangle if you do wish so.

How to decide about the measurements?

You might want to consider what is the bag for. Is it your everyday bag or a fancy purse you take to parties, backpack or neck pouch? From there on you might want to take a look at the amount of items you would like to fit in it. This should largely give you an understanding of the size you need.

From there on you may choose to add pockets for your bag – just as many as you need to sort everything comfortably.

Decorations

List of options

Here's a list from a top of my head. You're most welcome to ask for more but here's a start:

Hand carved images, patterns.
Hand painted images, patterns (so you may get a colourful item).
Pyrography - hand burnt patterns on the leather. This suits best for leather goods with natural finish. These might be combined with hand painted option.
Lacing. There are many amazing ways to decorate leather goods with all sorts of lacing techniques.
Seams in alternating or similar colour might also be set up as a decorative pattern.
Patterns made of on sewn laces - very beautiful option.
Holes. Yes, we will make a pattern out of holes. Very beautiful option and may be combined with layers of leathers in alternating colour.
Metal rivets.

Is any image or pattern suitable for carving?

In general yes but also no.

It all depends on the size and detail of the image that is supposed to be carved onto the given surface. Include your chosen image to the contact form when composing a letter to us and I'll let you know!

Colours

We offer many beautiful colours and sometimes it is possible to mix them to get more.
For example - we're mixing yellow and blue to get a sort of green that we like more than the one that is available by default. So - for example - we could get violet or purple for you too.

We can not offer you white, gray and pink though.
